Review of purex process abroad for spent nuclear fuel
Description
Purex process is the only industrial spent nuclear fuel reprocessing process, which extract uranium and plutonium from nitric acid solution by tributyl phosphate. All of the main large nuclear spent fuel reprocessing pants abroad, including La Hague center of France, Thorp Plant of Britain, RT-Plant of Russia, and Tokai plant and Rokkaso Plant of Japan, use the Purex process, with corresponding improvements. The UP3 and UP2-800 plants at La Hague center are the most successful reprocessing plants in the world, and their process is to be analyzed as typical Purex process in this article. Additionally, in the negotiation of large reprocessing plant corporations with France, the process to be introduced into the large reprocessing plant of China is an improved purex called COEX process, in this paper it will be compared with a typical purex process.
