In his annual report for 1991 Pierre Tanguy, the Director General for Safety at EdF, said that the performance of the nuclear units raised three particular concerns: improvements in plant performance have not proceeded as quickly as expected; the number of incidents of corrosion has increased; relations with the safety authorities have worsened.
