Experimental study of energy dependence of total fission cross sections for 238U, 235U, 209Bi and estPb induced by protons in energy range 200-1000 MeV

Description
The facility consisting of the set of the plane-parallel gas-filled avalanche counters for registering the processes of atomic nuclei fission is developed, whereby the measurements of the total fission cross sections were carried out on the proton beam of the synchrocyclotron PIYaF RAS (Gatchina). The energy dependences of the total cross sections for 238U, 235U, 209Bi and estPb atoms induced by protons are measured through the method on coincidence of two fission fragments. The above measurements are accomplished within the energy range of 200-1000 MeV with the pitch of 100 MeV; the preliminary results, obtained in 2002, are presented
Abstract (Russian)
Разработана установка, состояшая из набора плоскопараллельных газонаполненных лавинных счетчиков для регистрации процессов деления атомных ядер, с помощью которой были проведены измерения полных сечений деления на протонном пучке синхроциклотрона 238U, 235U, 209Bi и estPb протонами методом регистрации на совпадение двух осклоков деления. Измерения выполнены в интервале энергии 200-1000 МэВ с шагом 100 МэВ; приведены предварительные результаты, полученные в 2002 гAdditional details
