Reactor physics studies on metallic fuels for Indian fast reactor programme

  • 1. Reactor Physics Division, Reactor Engineering Group, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam (India)

Description

The main physics parameters like breeding ratio, doubling time and sodium void reactivity effect of a 500 MWe metallic fuelled FBR is analyzed and the results are described in this paper. The response of this core to a ULOF transient is also investigated. The results are compared with those obtained with oxide fueled prototype fast breeder reactor (PFBR). (author)
