Storage modelling: approach, tool development and applications

Description
Several software tools are used at the CEA for describing and modelling radioactive waste geological storage: CASTEM 2000 (structural mechanics), heat and mass transfers (TRIO), radionuclide migration through the various confinement barriers (DIMITRIO). Hybrid mixed finite elements had allowed to describe strong heterogeneities. Such calculation tools enable the assessment of radiological effects associated to events. Themes such as transport-geochemistry, hydrogeology and chemical kinetics are presently considered
