Proposed top events for level 1 PSA in low-power and shutdown conditions
Description
Top events for level 1 PSA in low-power and shutdown states (LPS PSA) were identified with respect to establishing the risk following from the NPP operation and to the potential of their development in level 2 PSA. A survey of potential major events was performed and their usability was discussed with focus on VVER 440/213 reactors. The main recommendation is that a detailed analysis should be performed of the amount of radioactive substances and their specific activity released during primary circuit boil-out to fuel exposure during the operation of the reactor unit in modes with the open reactor.
