Synthesis and characterisation of mixed ligand complexes of uranium(IV) with oxygen and sulfur containing donor ligands

Mixed ligand complexes of the type [U(OAc)2(β-diket)2] and [U(DETC)2(β-diket)2] [where, OAc=CH3COO-β-diket=CF3COCHCOCF3-, (HFAA), CH3COCHCOCF3-(TFAA), CH3COCHCOCH3- (AA), C4H4SCOCHCOCF3- (TTA), C6H5COCHCOCF3- (BTA), C6H5COCHCOC6H5- (DBM), DETC (C2H5)2NCS2-] have been synthesised and characterised by elemental analyses, infrared, proton NMR and mass-spectral techniques. Thermogravimetric (TGA) analysis of some of the compounds have been carried out to study the thermal decomposition modes. (author). 8 refs., 2 tabs
