Description
This report aims at supporting nuclear medicine professionals in the assessment of doses delivered to patients after administration of a radio-pharmaceutical medication for diagnosis purposes, while taking recommendations and new measurements into account. After an overview of the context, the authors presents and comments the evolution of the reference system for internal dosimetry (required data and models for dose calculation, calculation of the efficient dose). They present dosimetric data which are currently used, evoke data obtained on newborns and foetuses. They present recommendations related to breast-feeding (principle, issues related to the cumulative efficient dose), and address the issue of administered activity in nuclear medicine (situation and recommendations, case of PET) and in paediatrics (paediatric activities in nuclear medicine, case of PET in paediatrics), and the use of scanner dosimetry in nuclear medicine (examples of hybrid imagery, case of paediatrics)
