Structural investigation into steam turbine castings after operation and testing for long-term rupture strength
- 1. Khar'kovskij Avtomobil'no-Dorozhnyj Inst., Kharkov (Ukrainian SSR)
Description
A study was made on the structure and fracture mode of castings of 15Kh1M1FL and 20KhML steels after operation at 540 and 550 deg C, 9 MPa during 106 and 230 thousand hours respectively. It is shown that increase of operation period leads to the growth of brittle failure share in fracture. Failure takes place along the chain of carbides, concentrated along grain and subgrain boundaries
