Development of non-instrumented capsule for neutron flux neasurement in HANARO

  • 1. KAERI, Taejon (Korea, Republic of)

Description

The non-instrumented capsule(98M-01K) for measuring and evaluating the axial neutron flux distribution of a test hole in HANARO and the temperature of specimens, and for irradiating the reactor material(RPV; pressure vessel material, SA508 cl. 3) was successfully designed, fabricated and irradiated in the CT test hole at HANARO. Fluence monitor(F/M) and thermal monitor(T/M) were developed to measure and evaluate the neutron fluence of a test hole in HANARO and the irradiation temperatures of the specimens, respectively. There are 5 stages having the specimens in the capsule main-body. F/M, T/M and specimens were inserted in thermal media of each stage. The several technical points, related to structural design change, monitor design and manufacturing, capsule assembling, obtaining in developing the non-instrumented capsule(98M-01K) was described in this paper
