Description
The need for a thin blanket design in fusion reactor provides a driving force to improve the performance of a LiPb-type blanket through adding a moderator to the breeder to soften the neutron spectrum and, thus, enhance the tritium breeding. As a result, the LiPb blanket performed much better with a beryllium moderator and the design of a 0.17 m thick blanket has become feasible
