Description

The characterization of the nuclear materials and of the material/environment interaction processes in the operation conditions is related to the analysis of the non-homogeneous structures. The solution of a such complex analytical problem is the use of complementary analytical techniques (XPS, SAM, AES, 'Depth profiling', XRD), and special data processing methods. An Incoloy 800 sample exposed in autoclaves from U1-NPS Cernavoda was analyzed by ESCA techniques (XPS, AES, SAM) and XRD. A model of the structure of the film developed on the Incoloy 800 sample was deduced by correlation of the results obtained by complementary analytical techniques used
