X-Ray line profile analysis of nanostructured oxytocin

Description
The aim of this work is to explain the water binding mechanism of oxytocin - a synthetic peptide hormone applied in medicine. By modelling its X-ray line profile it was shown that the origin of hygroscopicity of oxytocin substance in air can be related to the formation of nanosized oxytocin crystallites in the form of heptahydrates.
