Microscopic calculation of nuclear level densities with auxiliary-fields Monte Carlo method

Creators

Description

We have developed a microscopic method to calculate nuclear level densities in the interacting shell model using auxiliary-field Monte Carlo techniques. The method has successfully been applied to nuclei in the mass range A approx 50 - 70. Shell effects and parity-dependence of the nuclear level densities are clarified by the present microscopic approach. (author)
