Monte Carlo and Computer Plasma simulation Studies of the Inhibition of End Loss from a θ-Pinch by Non-Adiabatic 'Rough' Magnetic Walls

Description

The results are presented of a Monte Carlo computation of 500 particles released at points randomly distributed over the radius into a cylindrical tube with sinusoidally corrugated specularly reflecting walls. Furthermore, a computer-simulated θ-pinch plasma is studied; the motion of 13 000 particles in a rectangular net of 2000 cells is observed and the particle losses under various conditions are reported.
