Coccinelle: a consistent software for light water reactor physics calculations design, safety, management, monitoring and surveillance

Description

This paper presents the COCCINELLE code developed at Electricite de France (EDF) for light water reactor 3D calculations. A detailed description of performances and capabilities is given which puts forward the ability of the code to cover a wide range of applications. Major efforts have been recently devoted to the following topics: kinetics, use of a 3D thermal hydraulic model, pin by pin calculations. In parallel an extensive validation programme has been performed using experimental data from power reactors, which permits to assess COCCINELLE's accuracy on the different core parameters
