Description
Recent results from negative ion neutral beam development programmes have been sufficiently encouraging to raise the possibility of using neutral beam heating on INTOR. A system based on a 400 keV D- beam is probably the most readily implemented scheme. This short article addresses the present status of negative ion sources, transport considerations, and neutralizers
