Prediction of PEC core mechanical behaviour

  • 1. ENEA, Dipartimento Reattori Veloci, Bologna (Italy)

Description

A brief description of the original PEC core restraint system is presented. Recent advanced seismic analysis studies have necessitated the introduction of anti-seismic design modifications which have increased the difficulties of fuel handling. Computer codes and numerical methods, used by ENEA to resolve core restraint and fuel handling problems are given together with an outline of mechanical tests and handling experiments in support of the anti-seismic core design.
