Interaction between intermetallic compounds and hydrogen in a glow discharge plasma
Description
The interaction between intermetallic compounds (IC) (ZrCr2, ZrVNi, ZpTiNi, ZrVsub(0.5)Nisub(1.5), WFe2. WCo2, MoFeSi) and hydrogen in a glow discharge plasma is investigated. The effect of the discharge basic parameters on hydridation is determined and optimum conditions (pressure approximately 16 mm Hg, current intensity approximately 180-230 μA, time approximately 1-3 h) are found. The X-ray phase analysis shows that the α-phases in the IC-hydrogen systems or ''solid solutions'' of hydrogen in crystal lattices of initial IC are the products of plasma-chemical hydridation. The products of ZrVNiHsub(2.14) and ZrCrsub(2)Hsub(0.97) composition are a mixture of α- and hydride phases. The interaction scheme is proposed, at the first stage of which the IC surface activation takes place, at the second stage - hydrogen diffusion into the alloy crystal lattice
