Evaluation model for PWR irradiated fuel
Description
The individual economic value of the plutonium isotopes for the recycle of the PWR reactor is investigated, assuming the existence of an market for this element. Two distinct market situations for the stages of the fuel cycle are analysed: one for the 1972 costs and the other for costs of 1982. Comparisons are made for each of the two market situations concerning enrichment of the U-235 in the uranium fuel that gives the minimum cost in the fuel cycle. The method adopted to establish the individual value of the plutonium isotopes consists on the economical analyses of the plutonium fuel cycle for four different isotopes mixtures refering to the uranium fuel cycle. O valor economico individual dos isotopos do Plutonio para a reciclagem em um reator PWR, e investigado, supondo-se a existencia de mercado aberto para esse elemento. Duas situacoes distintas de mercado para as etapas do ciclo do combustivel sao analisadas, uma referente aos custos exercidos em 1972 e outra aos custos de 1982. Comparacoes sao feitas em relacao ao enriquecimento de U-235 no combustivel de uranio que fornece o minimo custo do ciclo do combustivel, para as duas situacoes de mercado. O metodo de solucao adotado, para a determinacao do valor individual dos isotopos do Plutonio, consiste na analise economica do ciclo do combustivel de Plutonio de quatro diferentes vetores isotopicos, tomando-se como referencia o ciclo do combustivel de uranio.
