Proposed experiments for IPR-R1 Triga Reactor upgraded power to 250 kW

Description
The TRIGA IPR -R1 research reactor, in the Centro de Desenvolvimento da Tecnologia Nuclear - CDTN , operates at a thermal power of 100 kW that is going to be upgraded to 250 kW. In order to achieve this goal, it will be necessary to add 4 more fuel elements in the ring C to obtain the core excess reactivity of 1924 pcm, according to the neutronic calculations. Taking part in the licensing process, this work presents the proposed experiments that should be made at 100 and 250 kW to test the safety of the reactor. (author)
