Changes in the hemopoietic system in remote periods after acute and chronic radiation exposure

Description

The hemopoietic system of animals exposed to acute and chronic radiation was studied in immediate and late periods (in 3, 6, 9, 12 and 18 months) postirradiation. Standard hematologic and bone marrow status were under study, including life cycle phase distribution of myelokaryocytes and bone marrow proliferative acitivity. All the examined parametres were found to rcover a year after an acute radiation exposure in a dose 2 Gy. Chronic irradiation resulted in a stable increase of meylokaryocyte share in DNA synthesis phase. This parameter was found to be related to irradiation dos and its intensity
