Quantum-well induced and controlled ferromagnetism in Pd, Pt ultrathin films
Description
In order to achieve ultra-fast magnetic control and develop magnetic device with ultra-fast processing, the understanding of magnetic properties from the standpoint of Fermiology will be important. In this study, we suggest a new field to understand the magnetic control based on Fermiology using quantum-well states formed in metallic ultra-thin films. Based on above, we discuss the possibility to unravel the mechanism of magnetic switching using time-resolved X-ray magnetic circular dichroism and time-resolved angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
