Fifteen years on - the calculation of atomic transition probabilities revisited
Description
An up-date is presented of a previous review by the author of atomic transition probability calculations published in 1969. Attention is again restricted, in the main, to allowed electric dipole transitions. Attention is in particular paid to the construction of accurate atomic wave-functions, to the random phase approximation and to recent progress in relativistic calculations. Comparative results for the resonance transition of beryllium-like ions are discussed by way of illustration. (Auth.)
