Effects of antarctic krill oil on lipid metabolism by label-free quantitative proteomics

Description

In order to investigate the effects of dietary krill oil on lipid metabolism, the proteomic changes in the liver of mice which were fed with high-fat diet (HFD) were evaluated using label-free quantitative proteomics. The results showed that compared with the model group, there were 125 up-regulated and 99 down-regulated proteins in control groups, while 109 up-regulated and 95 down-regulated proteins in the experimental groups. The differentially expressed proteins (DEGs) related with lipid metabolism were further analyzed. It was found that PPT1, APOB100, ACADSB, HACD3 and SULT1 A1 were all up-regulated, while ACSM3 and ACSF2 were down-regulated both in control and experimental groups. Combined with the results of pathway analysis and the network diagram, proteins including ACADSB, ACSM3 and ACSF2 et al. were found to have important roles in the changes of lipid metabolism caused by the dietary of krill oil. The results of this study would provide a basis for further analyzing the mechanism of action of krill oil and the molecular mechanism of regulating lipid metabolism. (authors)
