Dual Power Asynchronous Generator for the production of tidal power in the Raz Blanchard - Modeling and Simulations

Description

The 'Raz Blanchard' is one of the most important sites for the installation of tidal turbines in France. This article presents the modeling and simulation of a tidal power generation system based on the typical characteristics of the Raz Blanchard. The model of the system consisting of a 10 m radius turbine and a 1.5 MW dual power asynchronous generator is simulated in a Matlab / Simulink environment. The main contribution of this article is focused on DC bus voltage and power control strategies (active and reactive) using an actual tidal speed profile recorded over four days on the Raz Blanchard. The simulation results are presented and analyzed

Abstract (French)

Le Raz Blanchard est parmi les sites les plus importants pour l'implantation des hydroliennes en France. Cet article presente la modelisation et la simulation d'un systeme de production d'energie hydrolienne base sur les caracteristiques types du Raz Blanchard. Le modele du systeme constitue d'une turbine de 10 m de rayon et d'une generatrice asynchrone a double alimentation de 1.5 MW est simule dans un environnement Matlab/Simulink. La principale contribution de cet article est focalisee sur les strategies de controle de la tension du bus continu et des puissances (active et reactive) en utilisant un profil reel de vitesse des marees enregistre pendant quatre jours sur le Raz Blanchard. Les resultats de simulations sont presentes et analyses. (auteurs)
