Description
The natural radioactivity of some building materials commonly used in the city of Sao Paulo was measured by gamma ray spectrometry. The radium equivalent concentration and the gamma absorbed dose rate in air were estimated as well as the internal and external hazard indices. The results indicate that these materials are not a major source of exposure. (Author)
