Some aspects of heavy particle stripping in low-lying levels of 10B
Description
The heavy-particle stripping and the deuteron stripping contributions have been separated in the neutron yield corresponding to the ground state and the 0.72, 1.75, 2.20, 2.86 and 3.69 states of 10B. The 2.86 MeV neutrons are predominantly produced from heavy-particle stripping while 3.69 MeV neutrons are produced almost entirely from deuteron stripping process. Interference effects are likely to lead to overlapping of both these states resulting in evidence for only the higher energy level, the 2.86 MeV states escaping detection. (author)
