Description
In the present work a study regarding the influence on the prompt fission neutron spectrum of a) the scission neutron contribution, b) different models used for the compound nucleus crosssection of the inverse process c) the residual temperature distribution and d) the anisotropy effect is presented, with application on the 233U(nth, f) reaction. A new version of the computer code SPECTRUM is used, including recent improvements and developments of the Los Alamos model such as: a more realistic form of the fission fragment residual nuclear temperature distribution, the inclusion of the anisotropy effect and the contribution of scission neutrons. The average values of model parameters (energy release, total kinetic energy of fission fragments, average neutron separation energy of fission fragments, prompt gamma-ray energy) are taken from the recent systematic of the Los Alamos model parameters. The prompt neutron spectrum results are compared to existing experimental data. (author).
