The deuteron wave function and N-N interactions

  • 1. Graz Univ. (Austria). Inst. fuer Theoretische Physik

Description

The authors have investigated the behaviour of the deuteron wave function with respect to some recent meson theoretical potentials, put forward by the Bonn, Nijmegen and Paris groups respectively. Two years ago remarkable differences were found between two earlier versions of such potentials: for example the dip of the S-wave function in momentum space was at psub(+) = 1.9 and 2.7 fm-1 respectively and the high energy component was different by an order of magnitude. It is surprising - despite their different approaches - that the recent potentials (especially that of the Nijmegen and of the Paris group) give nearly identical results for the wave functions up to 3 fm-1. This leads to a psub(+) of 2.0 +- 0.06 fm-1 for all potentials and to a variation of the high energy component within a factor of only 2.5. (Auth.)
