Scattering losses in fluoride optical fibers

  • 1. Naval Research Lab., Washington, DC (USA)

Description

Scattering losses on the order of 0.025 dB/km were measured in fluoride glass optical fibers. The measurements were made on several 5 cm lenghts of fiber. The core and cladding diameters were 28 and 150 microns, respectively, and the numerical aperture was 0.13. (author) 2 refs., 2 figs., 2 tabs
