Description

To evaluate the ore-forming ability of magmatic fluids with respect to noble metals, the distribution of gold, ruthenium and some other platinum metals between aqueous chloride fluid (1M HCl) and basalt knelt is studied at P = 5 kbar and T = 1100-1350 deg C. Coefficient of Ru distribution (DRu) at T = 1100 deg C and P = 5 kbar is found to be 0.1, it lies within a series of DIr>DRu>DPd. For noble metals a negative correlation between D and their affinity to chlorine in terms of delta G0298 is pointed out
