Detection of EAS Cherenkov light reflected from mountain snow

Description
Fast (typical duration (400/500) ns) light pulses are detected pointing three mirrors at a snowy mountain surface. The characteristics of the pulses are in agreement with expectation from EAS Cherenkov light reflected from the snow. The technique can be applied to the study of the cosmic-ray primary spectrum at high energies
