Recording of rainbow holograms of color images using white light

  • 1. Lebedev Physics Institute, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

A method for recording rainbow holograms of color images with continuous natural color variation over their surfaces is considered. It is shown that when holograms are recorded using a modified Denisyuk layout, a slit can by synthesized through the use of of an extended source of partially coherent light. The relation of the dimensions and the radiation spectral bandwidth of the recording light source with the parameters of the slit synthesized is found, and the calculated requirements for the parameters of a practical arrangement for hologram recording using a white light source in combination with an interference filter are presented. 12 refs., 2 figs
