Analysis of nonferrous metals. Refractory metals

  • 1. Japan Energy Corp., Tokyo (Japan)

Description

The reports about molybdenum, tungsten, niobium and tantalum in the refractory metals from 1987 to 1996 are summarized. The chief analytical method was a spectrophotometry in the last advanced reports, but now it changed to the atomic absorption spectrometry such as flameless atomic absorption spectrometry, ICP-AES and ICP-MS and GDMS. With grading up the integration of semiconduction device, purification of metals will be necessary. Importance and high sensitivity of analytical techniques will increase, so that industries have to use much more ICP-MS and GDMS. (S.Y.)
