Optical functions and band energy of YBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystals

  • 1. L'vovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Lvov (Ukrainian SSR)

Description

The reflection spectra of the YBa2Cu3O7-δ crystals were measured at the room and liquid nitrogen temperatures in the range of 1-6 eV. The optical functions ε1(E) and ε2(E) are calculated from the data obtained. The maxima are found at 3.02 eV; 3.40 eV; 3.74 eV. The band with a peak at 1.7 eV is the most sensitive to the temperature change. The intensity of this peak grows with a decrease of the temperature by 20%, while intensity of another peak at 4.08. eV grows only by 5%. To compare better and identity the obtained spectra, the reflection spectra of CuO crystals have been measured and respective optical functions calculated
