Description

The requirements are discussed in detail on the materials for the main components of light water reactor power plants, and the properties of the materials. They include low-alloy steel 15Kh2MFA for pressure vessels of Novovoronezh type reactors. Austenitic steel 0Kh18N10T or 0Kh18N12T is used for the primary circuit piping, or alternatively, low-alloy ferritic steels are used which are protected from corrosion with an inner lining of austenitic steel of about 5 mm in thickness. The heat transfer tubes and steam generator collectors for WWER reactors are manufactured from austenitic stainless steel 08Kh18N10T. Briefly outlined are the problems of materials for fuel element cladding and for steam turbines. (Z.M.). 6 figs., 5 tabs., 9 refs
