Cerenkov counter design for a high energy, high intensity secondary beam

Description

A cerenkov counter design is given for operation in a 500 GeV/c secondary beam with 109 to 1011 particles per 1 millisecond spill. The design allows the fractions of pions, kaons and protons to be determined. In particular the fraction of kaons should be measured with a relative accuracy of a few percent
