Improved seismic instrumentation helps keep plants operating
Creators
Description
A new seismic instrumentation system, the Altus Condor system, from Kinemetrics, will provide speedy and reliable information to nuclear power plant control rooms, enabling operators to assess the dangers of seismic activity and reduce the need for outages. The system has been developed in response to new US guidelines for reactor safety during earthquakes. (UK)
