The gas cooled reactor
Description
Potentialities of the gas-cooled reactors for generation of electricity have been discussed. The advantages of this type of reactors over the other presently in use, such as the greater safety and efficiency in operation, reliability at higher temperatures, etc. are explained. Details of planning and arguments for preference of AGR type of reactors for future use in Britain are enumerated. The economic benefits and fuel conservation that may be gained are mentioned. Some aspects of waste disposal are also touched upon. (K.B.)
