Theory of stimulated Raman scattering for relativistically strong laser radiation
Creators
Description
The paper deals with an investigation in the increments of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) forward and backwards during the interaction of relativistically strong, circularly polarized high-frequency radiation of arbitrary amplitude with a rare and dense collisionless plasma ignoring the temperature of electrons. It is shown that in the rarefied plasma maximum increments of forward and backward SRS instability and maximum half-width of excitation wave number instability region correspond to the pump field intensities E0 of several units of field amplitude which is comparable with laser field intensities used in the previous experiments. 27 refs., 3 figs
