Description
A one nucleon model for the photoejection of intermediate energy protons based on Dirac phenomenology is proposed. The t-matrix element for the process is written in the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) using distorted Dirac spinors to describe the proton dynamics. The calculated cross sections for the 16O(γ,p)15N and 40Ca(γ,p)39K reactions exhibit reasonable agreement with forward angle data as well as qualitative agreement with the measured energy dependence.
