Radioimmunological determination of the whole thyroxine in unextracted serum

Description
The results of a T4-radioimmunoassay and a method of determination following the principle of competitive protein binding are compared with regard to the practical advantages of radioimmunological T4 determination. The radioimmunoassay has a higher sensitivity and less marked deviations between multiple determination when hypothyroid and hyperthyroid sera are investigated in one assay. The results of both methods are in good agreement. (orig./AK)

Wegen der praktischen Vorteile der radioimmunologischen T4-Bestimmung wurden die Ergebnisse eines T4-Radioimmunoassays und einer Bestimmungsmethode nach dem Prinzip der kompetitiven Proteinbindung miteinander verglichen. Die Vorteile des Radioimmunoassays waren seine hoehere Empfindlichkeit und die geringere Abweichung von Mehrfachbestimmungen im gleichen Assay von Hypo- und Hyperthyreoseseren. Die Ergebnisse beider Methoden korrelieren gut miteinander. (orig.)Additional details
