Comparative analysis of findings of brain SPECT and static brain scan with Tc-99m pertechnetate in neuro oncological patients

Description
Brain radioisotope scanning (BRS) and SPECT were used to examine 34 patients with suspected brain tumor. Comparative analysis of the obtained findings of BRS and SPECT proved higher informativity of SPECT for diagnosis of the above tumors, when compared with BRS. The structure of the neoplasm and its relation to the extra cerebral elements are demonstrated more distinctly with SPECT. Besides, SPECT in contrast to BRS allowed to determine the size of the tumor
