On conditions of producting double borides of rare-earth and alkali-earth metals
Description
The possibility is confirmed of obtaining the binary lanthanum-barium boride with a specified content of BaB6 equal to 30 to 40 mole%, which possesses higher emissivity properties as compared with lanthanum hexaboride. Starting charge preparation technologies have been studied as applied to the borothermal reduction technique, ensuring the reduced component losses through evaporation, lower gassing, simplified reduction conditions
