Effect of external radiation on the accumulating of radiostrontium in the organism

  • 1. Meditsinska Akademiya, Sofia (Bulgaria). Nauchen Inst. po Rentgenologiya i Radiobiologiya

Description

Experiments have been carried out with 2 age groups (sexually mature and 3-4 weeks old) of 60 male rats. Radiostrontium with decreasing activity was incorporated in 2 ways - dayly during 2 weeks, and single intake. The external irradiation was made with gamma-irradiation device. The effect of different doses of external irradiation on the whole-body activity was studied. The results show that external radiation within sublethal dose range during the first 15 days following irradiation does not essentially affect the doses of Sr85 realized in bone tissues
