Treatment of Coulomb effects in two-electron charge-exchange reactions using the continuum distorted wave method
Description
The Dodd-Greider integral equations for a transition operator with rearrangement are used to develop the Schroedinger formalism for the continuum distorted waves method for two-electron charge exchange at moderate and high relative velocities. An attractive feature of the proposed formalism is its systematic treatment of the wave function asymptotics in both reaction channels, with allowance for the long-range nature of the Coulomb interactions. The general theory is illustrated for the case of two-electron charge exchange when a helium atom collides with α particles
