Description

Tests have been carried through with CsOH and stainless steel to investigate what effect the presence of a liquid phase has on cladding attack in an oxide fuel pin. The results have shown that stainless steel is readily attacked also by gaseous CsOH. Calculations show that reaction potential conditions in a fuel pin can be similar to those employed in these tests. (Auth.)
