Description

The wide range of applications for various types of particle accelerators is explored in this article. From the relatively simple low energy cathode-ray tube used in television and computer monitors to the huge powerful colliders such as the Large Electron Positron Collider in Geneva or the Tevatron at Fermilab near Chicago, each type of particle accelerator is explained and its uses and limitations explained.
