Construction and operation of a low temperature bolometer for detection of gamma-rays

Description
The authors report the first measurements on high energy gamma rays with a low temperature calorimeter. The detector is a crystal of about 10.7 grams operated at a temperature of about 30 mK. The thermal pulses produced by gamma-rays are detected and measured by means of a thermistor in thermal contact with the crystal. Spectra obtained by exposure to gamma-rays of energies ranging from 122 to 2615 keV, are reported and discussed
